INTRODUCING THE CULTURAL APPRECIATION PROJECT, aLL AROUND THIS WORLD’S 2024 CELEBRATION OF CULTURAL EXPRESSION — MUSIC, DANCE, FOOD, HOLIDAYS AND MORE! — TO RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT TRADITIONAL MUSICIANS
What do you love about your culture? Is it a song from your ancestors that your grandmother sings? A holiday you celebrate with your family? A cultural dance you love doing at a wedding? A food from your country that makes you feel at home?
ALL AROUND THIS WORLD’S CULTURAL APPRECIATION PROJECT is seeking 1000 very kind people — teachers, parents, musicians, humans from all parts of the globe — to share a short video clip of a song, dance, holiday, food, or other tradition that answers the question, “WHAT DO I LOVE ABOUT MY CULTURE?”
ALL CULTURAL APPRECIATION PROJECT CLIPS will raise MONEY TO SEED the TiME Fund, an All Around This World project to provide emergency micro-grants to traditional musicians in need. ALL AROUND THIS WORLD WILL DEDICATE100% OF THE MONEY THESE VIDEOS EARN THROUGH OUR SOCIal MEDia TO THE TIME FUND.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
1) Come up with a good idea for a cultural sharing video: a favorite holiday, a family tradition (it doesn’t have to be from the “old world”), a folk song or dance, a food that reminds you of home…. Share what makes you happy about your culture in any way that gives you joy. Plan to make a video that is short (not more than 5 minutes, even less than a minute is okay), simple
and fun. No need for fancy lighting or professional sound; recording on a phone camera should be fine. AATW works with young children so your videos should family-friendly, and, at best, can even teach simple elements of your song, dance or recipe. Record vertically or horizontally in any file format.… You don’t have to edit — you can send clips and we can put them together. IT CAN BE A TIK TOK OR REEL. Check out some examples below. 2) LET US KNOW about the idea. We’ll follow up with details. Or, if you’re confident….
3) Just SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO. How? Any way. Send us a link to download the video from your cloud backup. E-mail us a Google Drive or Dropbox or sharing link. Share clips with us through our WhatsApp. Try WeTransfer (e-mail to info@allaroundthisworld.com). Ready to share? We’ll make it work. Include your e-mail address so we can thank you and let you know where and when to watch. Remember to e-mail us a caption or description so we know what’s happening in the video.
4) When should you submit you idea or video? The sooner the better. The deadline is October 15th, but don’t wait.
5) Put October 18-20 on your calendar…. That’s when the Cultural Appreciation Project video will debut on All Around This World’s YouTube Channel. Then, watch watch watch! The more views the videos get, the more money we will earn through YouTube and other social media platforms, and the more we’ll raise for TiME.
YES, YOU CAN BE PART OF THIS PROJECT AND “GIVE BACK” TO TRADITIONAL MUSICIANS! You don’t need to be a professional or even particularly adept in any cultural art — singing, dancing, cooking, celebrating. You just have to value that element of your culture and want to share it with the world.
