In class this week we sing "A Hiyeni," a song from a song from a communal "women's village" in Mozambique that singers enjoyed during evening cultural celebrations in the years building up to the country's independence from Portugal. On our All Around This World: Africa Cd, which we recorded with musicians who hail from all over the African continent, we let this song cross from East to West so we could record it with Liberian musicians. Here, for you to download, is our mp3.
